I havent looked back since. Its the one thing in my life that I have total control over and thrive on that strength. I find my passion for competing is a great motivator in itself. Competition has always given me great confidence and self-esteem to pursue other goals in my life. It also has helped me surmount the struggles in my life. Remember, it is never too late to start a fitness program or competition. "When in doubt, workout!" |

| Dan Dishart, 27 Competitive History 2007 UFE Halloween Mayhem 1st Place Inspiration I have always been active growing up and competed in various sports throughout my life. In high school I started taking a keen interest in the sports of rugby and football. In grade nine I weighed in a very skinny 135lbs. When practicing with the senior team I noticed a stark difference between the players that worked and those that did not. The advantages the athletes had from the hours spent in the gym was very evident on the field. I started to develop an interest in weight training and conditioning to better myself as an athlete. Over the course of my high school career I went from a skinny 135lbs to an athletic and strong 190lbs. The differences that I noticed over those years were substantial. I could run faster, hit harder, and had better mobility on the field. I took my training in the gym very serious and it has been a part of my life to this day. | ![]() |
